A Healthy Diet!

Ditch the ‘Diet” and Analyse What Actually Goes Into Your Body First

The New Year is well and truly upon us now, and I’m sure most of you are planning to get back into the diet, right? The problem, though, is going cold, ahem, turkey on all the undesirable foods and alcohol you have been eating over the festive season is sure to set you up for failure!

It’s simple really. After feasting on food and guzzling grog, your body will be experiencing major cravings – and you won’t be able to control them. Often people quickly fall off the “healthy” bandwagon because they just don’t know where to start.

This simple three-phase kick-start plan is sure to get you heading in the right direction, and better yet will help keep you on track.

Phase 1: The Preparation Phase

This preparation phase is essential to ween you off all the bad stuff and get you transitioning over to eating all the good stuff. Firstly, write down everything you eat in a week – and I mean everything! Now, over the next three weeks, eliminate the “bad” things from your diet.

Week 1: Two days bad, one day good, two days bad, two days good.

Week 2: One day bad, one day good for the entire week

Week 3: Two days good, one day bad, three days good, one day bad.

By the end of week three you will be having fewer cravings and feeling much better.

Phase 2: The Cleanse Phase

This phase is seven days of drinking nothing but water, limiting your dairy and grain consumption, and eating only organic fresh garden vegetables (as much as you want) and grass-fed organic meat every second or third day. This cleanse phase will help your body flush out toxins, regain its natural balance and have you bouncing out of your skin and full of energy.

Phase 3: The Rebuild Phase

This is where you can start to bring things back into your diet without going overboard – but allowing you to enjoy the things you like without losing your healthy lifestyle. As you start to bring things back into your diet, take notice of how certain foods make you feel – what makes you feel energized and what makes you feel sluggish – and build a lifestyle based on clean foods that make you feel your best every day of the week. Whenever you notice yourself starting to slip off the wagon again due to a busy lifestyle, simply go back to phase one and repeat.

Start 2013 with a cleaner healthier diet – and a better knowledge of how foods influence your body’s performance – and prepare for a year of unstoppable progress!
